Referrals from the client's physician are required
Who can be referred to this clinic
- Clients who have a diagnosis of, or suspected diagnosis of, depression, bipolar mood disorder, mood disorders associated with other brain disorders, complicated bereavement or anxiety
- Clients must be 60 years old or older
Excluded diagnoses (clients not eligible for this clinic)
Clients with the following diagnoses, or suspected diagnoses, will be excluded:
- Psychiatric illness that is not primarily mood related such as Schizophrenia
Services provided
- Assessment and diagnosis
- Multidisciplinary care
- Pharmacotherapy
- Psychotherapy (individual, group and family)
- Education
- Support groups
- The clinic is linked to our Geriatric Psychiatry Community Service, which can also provide home visits and case management
- Specialists from the Memory Clinic and the Stroke and Cognition Clinic in the Brain Health Centre Clinics - are also available to clients and their families if it is determined appropriate.
What clients should bring to their appointment
- OHIP card
- All medications in their original bottles
- Assistive devices (e.g., hearing aids, glasses, canes, walkers, etc)
