Assessments at your first visit in the Stroke and Cognition Clinic will include a physical (neurological) examination and cognitive screening by the doctor.
The Neurological Exam will test your:
- strength
- sensation
- reflexes
- balance
- walking
- vision
- heart rate
- blood pressure
- breathing
This information will help determine your diagnosis.
The Cognitive Screening will test your ability to:
- remember
- plan
- sequence
If you have not previously had the necessary diagnostic tests, other tests may be ordered. All of these tests and assessments will help the Team arrive at an accurate diagnosis, which leads to best treatments.
