Alternate Level of Care Information
When a patient is admitted to Baycrest Hospital, we strive to provide the best possible care based on his/her physical and emotional needs. That includes ensuring the patient is assessed for the appropriate level of care and determining when the person is best cared for in an alternative level of care setting, often a Nursing Home. Such a move is best for the patient based on his or her needs, and ensures others who are in need of hospital care can access a bed. To make sure this process works smoothly, Baycrest has a formal Alternate Level of Care Policy (ALC).
