In Case of Fire

We take the threat of fire very seriously and continually train our staff in emergency procedures. When a fire alarm sounds:

• Please follow instructions from staff members and stay where you are until further notice.
• Do not attempt to use the elevators or stairways, or to transport any residents on your own.
• When the alarm sounds, the emergency doors close automatically. Only emergency services personnel and designated Baycrest staff are allowed to pass through these doors.
• Remain calm, stay where you are, listen to announcements and take direction from the staff members in charge.

We ask residents, family members and other visitors to familiarize themselves with all fire exits and fire alarm pull stations on each floor.

Fire exits are located at both ends of every floor and are illuminated with EXIT signs. Fire alarm pull stations are located near exits on every floor.
