Consultants to the Care Team

The Psychologist and Psychiatrist assess changes in behaviour or functioning if they occur and then suggest possible treatment approaches.

The Clinical Nurse Specialist is an advanced practice Registered Nurse who supports quality of care through staff education, consultation and research.

The Occupational Therapist (OT) provides assessment and consultation to help you in activities of daily living. The goal is for each patient to meet his or her maximum level of independence.

The Physiotherapist (PT) provides assessment and consultation to help you maintain or improve the highest possible level of physical mobility and functioning. You will be assessed soon after admission to establish baseline mobility levels and to determine whether you would benefit from physiotherapy.

The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) assesses patients who have or develop difficulties with communication and/or swallowing. The Audiologist assesses hearing problems and prescribes hearing aids or other assistive devices.

The Pharmacist reviews the appropriateness of medications, dosage, frequency and potential drug interaction for individual patients and also provides information about medication to members of the Care Team.

The Diagnostic Imaging Technician provides imaging services based on orders and clinical information received from the Physician. This may include general x-ray exams, bone mineral density testing and ultrasound exams.

Our on-site Rabbi/Chaplain and other Chaplains are available to provide religious and spiritual support to patients and their families. Community clergy are welcome to visit.
