Leaving Your Floor

We encourage Hospital patients who are well enough to do so to leave their rooms and their floors for a change of scenery and to “see the sights” around our building complex. Some patients enjoy leaving Baycrest for an occasional outing with family or friends. Here are a few tips:

  • If you want to leave your floor but stay within Baycrest Patients who can do so may visit the gardens on the Baycrest grounds in good weather, have a meal or snack in the Cafeteria or Café, or visit with other patients or residents. Please let a member of the Care Team know you are leaving the floor. Family members, friends or Private Companions who would like to take a patient off the floor should inform a member of the Care Team and sign the person out. Sign-out books are kept at the nursing station on your floor.
  • If you want to leave for an outing Patients who are able to leave the building on a day pass and would like to do so should speak to a member of the Care Team.
