Temporary Transfer

If your medical condition changes and you need acute hospital care, arrangements will be made for you to be transferred from Baycrest Hospital to an appropriate setting. If you are admitted to another hospital for acute care, the Care Team will discuss options for holding your Complex Continuing Care bed with you and your family. Co-payment charges will be applied in this situation and will be explained to you.

If your stay in another hospital is longer than 20 days, your Hospital bed must be released. If and when you are able to return to Baycrest Hospital, every effort will be made to get you the first available and appropriate Complex Continuing Care bed.
