Zero Tolerance Abuse Policy
Everyone at Baycrest has the right to be free from all acts of violence that could threaten their physical or mental well-being, and they also have the right to expect that their possessions will be secure.
Our Policy states that we will investigate all allegations of abuse reported to us by clients, clients’ families and visitors, and staff and volunteers at Baycrest. This could involve alleged abuse of clients by other clients, by staff, family members, private companions or visitors. It could also involve abuse of staff and volunteers by clients, their families, private companions or visitors.
Our policy sets out detailed expectations, definitions of abuse, actions to be taken and possible consequences of abusive behaviour. For more information, please contact your nurse manager or the ombudsperson at 416-785-2500 extension 2919.
