Sweet Dreams

clockIf you are worried that you are not getting enough sleep, keep in mind that when it comes to sleep, quality is often more important than quantity.

If you feel well-rested when you wake up each morning and are able to remain awake and alert all day, then probably all you need are a few simple adjustments to your daily schedule and evening routines.

  • Never nap after 3 pm or for longer than one hour.
  • Avoid exercising, eating a large meal or drinking caffeine or alcohol four to six hours before bedtime. Occasionally these interfere with sleep.
  • Remember, smoking is a stimulant.
  • Try taking a warm bath followed by a light snack. This is can be a relaxing ritual.
