Toronto, CANADA - Baycrest Centre for Geriatric Care is the first OHA hospital in the GTA to use CorporateWorks™, a new on-line recruitment tool developed by Canada’s biggest job board, Workopolis.com.
How it works
Baycrest will continue to advertise positions in various media, however applicants will be asked to submit their resumés through CorporateWorks™ rather than directly to Baycrest Human Resources. CorporateWorks™ will store the job applications on a web-based corporate career site created specifically around Baycrest’s overall on-line marketing strategy.
Using a CorporateWorks™ tool called The ScreeningRoom™, Baycrest recruiters can view applications, set-up automatic e-mail acknowledgment for incoming resumés, and conduct keyword searches to identify and shortlist those applicants with the most relevant skills for a particular position. Reporting tools can also assist recruiters in identifying the most effective job posting sites.
There are benefits for job seekers too. They can create and update their resumés directly on the corporate career site, save multiple resumés and cover letters, and set up Career Alerts so they’ll learn about new job postings at Baycrest that are relevant to their skills. Applicants will also be able to communicate directly with Baycrest recruiters via e-mail.
“The speed of the process allows us to concentrate on nurturing candidate relationships via the communication tools,” says Pesce. “It’s all about getting the right candidates to the hiring manager faster.”
Baycrest’s Occupational Therapy (OT) Department has begun its trial run with the new recruitment tool. Other departments are expected to follow beginning in November.
