TORONTO, ON – About 1,000 runners and walkers are expected at the 23rd Annual Baycrest Challenge on Sunday morning, May 11th. The Baycrest Challenge is one of the oldest runs in Toronto and attracts hundreds of the GTA’s most serious and competitive runners, duathletes and triathletes for the 5K and 10K runs. Families come out to enjoy the 5K walk.
Point-to-point route for this charitable fundraiser begins at Baycrest Centre for Geriatric Care (3560 Bathurst St., south of the 401), winds through Earl Bales Park system, and finishes in the park.
Participants will enjoy the Baycrest-Shoppers Drug Mart Family Carnival at the finish line in Earl Bales Park. It’s a full day of fun that includes food, entertainment, face painting, pony rides, games, prizes and raffles.
The Baycrest Challenge expects to raise $100,000 this year. The funds help Baycrest to transform the way people age and advance care and quality of life to a new level, through the power of research and education, and with a focus on brain functioning and mental health.
