Toronto Police Chief Julian Fantino wasa special guest speaker at Baycrest's seniors' building -- the Reuben Cipin Healthy Living Community -- on Sept. 21. Chief Fantino spoke to a packed community hall about rising gang violence in the city and the troubling spate of hate crimes against the Jewish community. He stressed the importance of raising children to be caring adult citizens who embrace diversity and respect one another's cultural and religious differences. His speech earned him a standing ovation and a tender hug from Blema Mazin, who lives at the 2 Neptune Dr. seniors' building.
