Students remember child victims of Holocaust

Students remember child victims of Holocaust

Grade 6 students from Ventura Park Public School in Thornhill came to Baycrest Centre for Geriatric Care on June 8 to launch a multi-media package they created to remember child victims of the Holocaust. Every Life Remembered includes an original song by the students, stories, art, drama and a documentary video. The students chose the poignant symbol of a child's shoe to represent their journey of discovery and their collective wish that such a massive atrocity against humanity will never be repeated. Child Holocaust survivors worked with the children on the project, sharing stories about their personal experience of survival. For many students, this living history was their first exposure to the Holocaust. The young students hope the multi media package will make its way into schools, libraries and homes. The teaching tool is available through Ventura Park P.S., 905-707-6488.
