Toronto, ONT – Baycrest, through its Centre for Education on Aging, has launched Health Matters, a free electronic health newsletter that delivers personalized topics of interest to subscribers.
“The concept is similar to personal TV,” says Nancy Webb, vice-president of Public Affairs at Baycrest. “You subscribe and choose the health topics that interest you. Every month you’ll receive Health Matters online newsletter with information and links to medical and scientific articles specific to those topics.”
Baycrest teamed up with Private Health News (PHN), an American company that scans more than 350 science journals and medical publications and packages content for Baycrest to deliver to its Health Matters subscribers.
Baycrest maintains editorial control to ensure the information reflects a Canadian healthcare perspective and is in line with its medical standards. Important medical news and scientific findings from Baycrest’s world-renowned research are also included in the newsletter.
“Health Matters delivers trusted healthcare information to the public and tailors it to meet the needs of each subscriber,” says Webb. “The consumer tells us what they want to read, not the other way around.”
