Pauline Nelson celebrated her 99th birthday and her official retirement as a volunteer at Baycrest Geriatric Health Care System on Nov. 27. Helping her celebrate 30 years of volunteering were Baycrest staff and family members, including Pauline's great granddaughter Samantha who dipped her thumb in the cake moments before the photo was taken. Baycrest staff paid tribute to Pauline with emotional speeches, a poem reading, and special musical performances. Clare Adie, V.P. of Professional and Community Services, shared a quiet moment with this remarkable woman whose energy and dedication to volunteer work inspired everyone around her.
