Baycrest prom celebration for Holocaust survivors gets news coverage in local and national media


Canadian Jewish News - Holocaust survivors attend their first senior prom

As teenagers in Poland in the late 1930s, Leah Frimerman, Anna Newman and Dina Shyllit were not able to finish high school and knew nothing about a senior prom.

Last week, however, along with about 140 other Holocaust survivors, they attended a belated prom at Baycrest – complete with music, dancing, brightly coloured tablecloths, prom pictures, prom cake, centrepieces and gift bags.
