The Canadian International Peace Project teamed up with Baycrest to host a remarkable intercultural event on June 28 that saw Jewish seniors from the Terraces and members of the Somali Canadian community mingle together in a spirit of goodwill to learn about each other’s culture and history. The two communities enjoyed an afternoon of food, crafts, traditional costume and song.
“The event was a way to bring different cultures together, understand where people come from, share perspectives, and focus on common values,” said Bianca Stern, director of Culture and Heritage at Baycrest.
