Andy Engel, an 87-year-old resident at Baycrest's Apotex Centre, Jewish Home for the Aged, enjoys a morning visit with his son Paul who lives in California. With Andy is his private companion Sarah Ayele. Baycrest's E-Health Team is testing a new program -- using the internet, Skype software and webcams -- that would eventually provide residents on all floors the opportunity to have virtual visits with family who live anywhere in the world. reBoot Canada has donated computer hardware for the program. Baycrest is currently seeking tech-savvy volunteers to help coordinate the virtual visits for residents. If you're interested, call Baycrest Volunteer Services, 416-785-2500, ext. 2572.
