Nursing Research, Innovation and Best Practice

Nursing Research, Innovation and Best Practice

We are giving the world new hope about interventions and preventions that could transform aging.

Our Research Centre comprises of the Rotman Research Institute, one of the top five brain institutes in the world, and the Kunin-Luminfeld Applied Research Unit (KLARU).

Because Baycrest is a university-affiliated centre, nursing staff are often involved in research projects and application of research into practice.

Our discoveries have revealed the potential for nutritional, lifestyle and psychological factors to improve memory and cognitive functions in the older person and the brain-damaged person.

In our landmark brain imaging work, we have discovered that the networks which control the brain reorganize themselves throughout life, offering new hope for people living with Alzheimer's disease and the effects of stroke.

At the KLARU, neuroscientists work alongside nurses to monitor the progress of treatment and apply the results directly to client care.
