Education and Research

The Occupational Therapy Department strives to provide a high standard of care that is based on integrating clinical experience and current best practise evidence within a client-centered focus. A reflective and collaborative approach to practise is promoted.

Occupational therapy staff are supported to become active and life-long learners integrating research and education into their professional practise to provide care that enhances the quality of life of their clients/families. Clients/families are supported to become active partners in their care planning process.

In keeping with Baycrest’s affiliate status with the University of Toronto, occupational therapists function as consultanMan and Nursests, lecturers, student supervisors and group facilitators, participating in the overall academic and clinical process.

The Baycrest Occupational Therapy Department is an accredited fieldwork education site for occupational therapy students.
