Volunteer Services Award 2002

Toronto, ON - Volunteerism is a valued tradition in Ontario. Since 1984, the Government of Ontario, through the Ontario Volunteer Service Awards, has recognized volunteers from the citizenship and culture sectors for the many hours of service they have contributed to community organizations.

On November 26, 2002, the Government of Ontario, Volunteer Services Award was bestowed upon recipients from our own Baycrest Volunteer Services staff. The Volunteer Service Awards are the government's way of thanking volunteers for the many hours of volunteer work they've contributed. The awards recognize continuous years of volunteer dedication given by individuals to an agency.

Recipients included Esther Peters, 15 years; Gail Cross, 10 years; Cynthia Hanson, 5 years; Mitzi Harris, 5 years; Thomas Weiss, 5 years. Absent is Baka Sternberg, 10 years.

We congratulate them all, and with many thanks from the staff, for their dedicated 'time' contributed volunteer work.
