About Youth Council

Are you interested in gaining leadership experience? We’re looking for friendly and energetic Youth Volunteers to become a part of Youth Council. If you work well in group settings, take initiative, and aren’t afraid to voice your opinion, then apply for Youth Council today!

Youth Council is a committee of youth volunteers responsible for organizing and running the Youth Volunteer Program, under the guidance of the Coordinator of Volunteer Services, Janis Sternhill. Duties include planning and running important events such as Summer Orientation and Recognition Night, planning and running fun get-togethers for the youth volunteers, completing administrative tasks, and much more.

Candidates must have volunteered in the Youth Volunteer Program for at least one summer or one full year. Meetings are held one Sunday per month during the school year and twice a month during the summer. The commitment is for one year from the beginning of September until the end of August of the following year.
