Baycrest is pleased to announce the appointment of Susan Sutton as vice-president of Global Institutional Advancement and president of the Baycrest Foundation.
Sutton, an American fundraising executive with more than 26 years of experience leading campaigns for academic and health sciences centres in the United States, will lead a major global fundraising campaign for Baycrest.
"It is an honour and a privilege to be associated with a unique and prominent patient care and research institution such as Baycrest. The campaign will not only be transformative to the historic home of Baycrest, but will have the potential to transform geriatric medicine and patient care delivery to seniors," said Sutton, who was instrumental to the success of the recently completed $2-billion campaign at Johns Hopkins Medicine.
"We are truly excited to have Susan bring her outstanding talents for international fundraising to our organization," said Dr. Anthony Melman, chair of Baycrest's Board of Directors. "Her strengths are well aligned with our vision to expand Baycrest's global reach and leverage international fundraising opportunities that are essential for helping our organization create a future where we lead the world in aging and brain health."
"Susan is a strategic thinker with great fortitude and experience in leading the design and implementation of large-scale international fundraising programs and campaigns," said Warren Kimel, chair of the Baycrest Foundation Board of Directors. "She will energize our fundraising efforts in new and creative ways."
In addition to her former position at Johns Hopkins Medicine, Sutton has held senior management positions at other sector-leading organizations in the United States, including The Pennsylvania State University, the National Alliance on Mental Illness. and the National Jewish Centre for Immunology and Respiratory Medicine.
