Dementia, regardless of the type, is likely to be complicated by combinations of complex behavioural and psychological symptoms. Each group of behaviours requires different types of assessments and interventions. Behaviours and psychologial symptoms:

Hoarding Repetitive behaviours
Restlessness Aggression – verbal or physical
Wandering Depression
Pacing Anxiety
Agitation Psychosis (a break with reality, paranoia, hallucinations)
Calling out/screaming Apathy (a complete lack of interest)
Impulsiveness (inter-personal or sexual)
