Dr. Brian Richards

Psychologist, Cognitive and Behavioural Health Program

speakerseries-40Psychologist Dr. Brian Richards obtained his Ph.D. from York University and has been a member of Baycrest’s department of psychology since its inception in 1986. He specializes in the treatment of severe memory disorders and provides neuropsychological assessment services within the department of Behavioural Neurology at Baycrest.

Dr. Richard’s primary research focus is in the design and training for use of external memory prosthetics. He has developed a program called Memory-Link: a multidisciplinary memory rehabilitation program that addresses the full spectrum of cognitive occupational and social problems that arise following amnesia.

The objectives of Memory-Link are to:

  • Link individuals with amnesia to their daily life through practical training on compensatory external memory aids
  • Link individuals with amnesia and their families to community supports
  • Link emerging technology and research knowledge to practical application.
