Thursday, April 7, 2016 | This exclusive ceremony is back in a big way. We will honour a dedicated group of Pro-Am participants who exemplify the spirit of generosity. As always, select NHL Alumni will be in attendance for the induction.
Friday, May 13 – 15, 2016 | The Scotiabank Pro-Am for Alzheimer’s in support of Baycrest is the ultimate hockey experience. This two-day tournament allows everyday hockey fans and hundreds of participants the chance to lace up their skates and team up with some of hockey’s greatest players to raise money for Baycrest Foundation, a leader in Alzheimer’s disease and related dementia care, research and education.
Thursday, May 19, 2016 | The Professional Advisory Group of the Baycrest Foundation aims to educate financial, legal and accounting professionals for the purpose of offering advice to their aging clients and families.
Tuesday, October 20, 2015 | The 2nd annual Annual Dogs on the Catwalk fundraiser was a huge success! It brought in an incredible $60 000 in support of Volunteer Services and programs like Pet Therapy at Baycrest.
The Pet Therapy Program brings enjoyment to clients at Baycrest, helping those who are experiencing memory loss feel more comfortable communicating their needs and feelings.

Sunday, September 20, 2015 | September 20th maked the 20th anniversary of the Barrie to Baycrest (B2B) endurance ride, in support of therapeutic fitness programs at Baycrest. Riders took to the streets for a 50km or 100km course through beautiful countryside north of Toronto. For more information or to register for the 2016 ride please stay tuned!
Thursday August 13, 2015 | Barry Lebow held the fourth annual Realtor in the Park event. This was the major fun event of the summer for Canadian realtors and associates – they come from all over Canada for it!
Sunday, August 23, 2015 | Dash to Defeat Dementia was an amazing Trail Run at beautiful Bruce’s Mill conservation Park in Stouffville, Ontario. Participants journied through the treed forest pathways, across streams and through grassed fields to reach the finish line. Offering a 10K Run, 5K Walk/Run, Relaxed Nature Walk and a Kids Dash. Participants received a free t-shirt, medal and pancake breakfast.

Brain Booster with Dr. Vandermorris
Monday, June 8, 2015 | Dr. Susan Vandermorris is a Clinical Neuropsychologist and leads the Memory and Aging Program at Baycrest. She spoke about memory changes that occur with age.
Followed by TOUR D’ART with Shirley Hanick. Shirley opens her Briar Hill home collection for a private tour.
Thursday, April 30, 2015 | This 3-day tournament that pitted NHL Alumni like Wendel Clark and Ray Bourque against amateur hockey players had another successful year, raising over $2 million dollars in its 10th year and over $25 million in its ten year run.

KALIFER FAMILY LEGACY & HERITAGE PROJECT
The opening of Caring Community: The History of Health and Medicine in Jewish Toronto took place on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 in the The Morris and Sally Justein Heritage Museum & Silverman Garden Court.
Saturday, April 18, 2015 | Guests experienced an intimate evening of performance art – hip hop, contemporary, spoken word, vocalists and improv – as Toronto artists united in support of Alzheimer’s research at Baycrest.
A reception with complimentary appetizers, a raffle, live painting and more was enjoyed by all. The night was hosted by Toronto dance artist, Nicole Rosove, in memory of her grandparents, Mickey Finkelstein and Herb Rosove.
On Tuesday, April 14, 2015 our first event of the year was held by the Women Friends of Baycrest with guest speaker Linda Jackson, Baycrest’s Vice-President, Residential, Community and Brain Health, who spoke on “Our Future in Care.”

9 YEARS! 25 MILLION!
This past May, Baycrest hosted the 9th Annual Scotiabank Baycrest Pro-Am. With 449 participants alongside an impressive list of alumni, the event raised $1.65M in critical funds for Baycrest. This year’s event had a star lineup of NHL alumni, including Doug Gilmour, Ray Bourque and Wendel Clark. Families and friends enjoyed a family skate with alumni and an autograph session with Johnny Bower, Bobby Baun and Red Kelly. This exclusive event provides the everyday hockey enthusiast with an opportunity to skate alongside 44 former NHL professionals. The tournament kicks off with a private draft party where participants get to mingle and share a beer with their hockey heroes and culminates in a two day event filled with player and NHLA interaction.

Still Alice Premiere Screening
On Thursday, January 22, 2015, Baycrest hosted a private premiere screening of Lisa Genova’s novel STILL ALICE. In partnership with Women’s Brain Health Initiative and the Alzheimer Society of Ontario, guests were first to see Julianne Moore’s Oscar-nominated performance.
Prime Quadrant Conference
Prime Quadrant is an investment research and consulting firm, helping affluent investors make better investment decisions. On Wednesday, Nov.12, 2014, this sold-out event, in support of Baycrest, featured expert financial strategists, CEOs and top economists who shared their collective wisdom and investment ideas.

On October 27, 2014, the Women Friends of Baycrest group hosted a fun-filled, charitable evening of Mahjong, Canasta, Bridge, Scrabble and Poker! All proceeds from the evening supported Baycrest’s Behavioral Neurology Unit and the Sam and Ida Ross Memory Clinic.

The 19th annual Barrie to Baycrest (B2B) endurance ride in support of therapeutic fitness programs at Baycrest took place on September 7, 2014. Seventy-six riders took to the streets across two routes – a shorter 50km course and a 100km “endurance” course – through beautiful countryside north of Toronto. Riders were greeted at the Finish Line Party by families, friends, residents and Baycrest staff. This year the B2B riders raised $425,000 for Baycrest.

$125,000 in its inaugural year!
With more than 40 participating households, the inaugural Game Night for Baycrest took place on April 5, 2014. Party hosts in Toronto and New York opened their homes to friends and family to enjoy a night of great games, food and lots of laughs. Each of these parties raised funds and awareness for innovations in care and brain health at Baycrest. Planning is currently underway for a 2015 Game Night.

Baycrest Hockey Hall of Fame
Each year, the Baycrest Hockey Hall of Fame honours individual fundraisers for their generous and ongoing support of the Scotiabank Baycrest Pro-Am. This year’s event was hosted by Andi Petrillo, CBC Hockey Night in Canada, and included a roster of NHL alumni guests including Mr. HockeyTM himself, Gordie Howe. Guests also had an opportunity to have their photos taken with the Stanley Cup trophy. Inductees who were honoured for their fundraising and continued commitment to the event received a branded leather jacket.

Dogs on the Catwalk
On September 16, 2014, the Baycrest Foundation presented the first ever Dogs on the Catwalk event. Baycrest’s four-legged friends participated in a fashion show hosted by style icon and TV personality Jeanne Beker. Proceeds from the event went to support Baycrest’s Volunteer Services department, which is responsible for programs like Pet Therapy. The event was a huge success with 14 furry models and an audience of families, Baycrest staff and residents from the Apotex Centre, Jewish Home for the Aged.
