CRA’s ability to collect tax owing from third parties including beneficiaries and mortgagees

Ian Morris, CPA, CA, B.C.L, LL.B., TEP, is a senior tax practitioner who represents clients in tax controversy matters with the Canada Revenue Agency and Ontario tax authorities. He has broad experience dealing with various audit and appeals branches of the CRA and the Ministry of Finance, and routinely appears at the Tax Court of Canada and the Ontario Superior Court of Justice.

Alexandra (Ali) Spinner, CPA, CA, is a partner at Crowe Soberman, specializing in business acquisitions, estate freezes, post-mortem tax planning and corporate and estate tax returns. In 2015, she received the CPA Ontario and the Institute for Management & Innovation U of T Alumni Award. She has also received the prestigious M&A Advisor Emerging Leaders Award.
