Why Give to Baycrest
The need has never been greater.
Life expectancy is rising in Canada. And what should be cause for celebration has actually created a dire increase in the prevalence of age-related diseases that ravage the memory and destroy the person. In fact, Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia affect about 750,000 Canadians.
At Baycrest we are responding to this crisis in a personalized and holistic way through education, research and by providing excellent care. We want everyone who is getting older to be free of dementia, to be able to recall their life experiences and recognize the faces of their children and grandchildren.
But we can’t do this alone. Research is entirely funded by donations and competitive grants. Without sustainable funding, dementia studies at Baycrest and programs and interventions to help people with memory loss will be in jeopardy.
