Where your money goes

Donors, volunteers and those who participate in our events help to make our work possible. Thank you for your unwavering support and for helping us to transform the aging experience.

The following areas were funded in 2013-2014 (Total $20,754,424)

Please enjoy a few highlights from this past year, each one made possible by the generosity and kindness of our donors.

  • Funded in part by Baycrest volunteer and philanthropist, Evelyn Burns-Weinrib and The Geoffrey H. Wood Foundation, The Centre for Mental Health launched a new website that offers hope for seniors experiencing depression as well as their families and caregivers.
  • A unique photo exhibit, Precious Legacy: A Celebration of Life, was installed at Baycrest to honour more than 200 remarkable Holocaust survivors – all of whom are Baycrest residents and/or program participants. In addition, the Azrieli Foundation generously donated $150,000 in support of Baycrest’s Café Europa program, a specialized day program for Holocaust survivors.
  • The annual Scotiabank Baycrest Pro-Am hockey tournament has raised a remarkable $25 million in the past nine years, all in support of Alzheimer’s care, research, innovation and education.
  • Thanks to the generosity of Fela and Saul Lichtblau, three Baycrest nurses were awarded the Fela and Saul Lichtblau Excellence in Caring and Leadership Award, in recognition of their pursuit of knowledge and professional development.
