Therapeutic touch
The Therapeutic Touch(TM) Program at Baycrest Hospital (6W) is a service offered to patients in palliative care as an adjunct to mainstream medical treatment to help patients to relax, to better manage pain and maintain a quality of life. Baycrest is seeking qualified Therapeutic Touch Practitioners to volunteer their services in offering Therapeutic Touch to patients in the palliative care unit of the hospital. This is an invaluable opportunity for a Recognized Practitioner of Therapeutic Touch to extend compassionate service to people who are going through the final stages of their lives.


SKYPE at Baycrest
The SKYPE program is alive and well at Baycrest but volunteers are needed to assist clients connect with their loved ones around the world. Volunteers are needed Monday and Thursday mornings, Wednesday and Friday afternoons.


Eating assistance

Come help encourage client participation, and make meal time social and pleasurable. Training will be provided at Baycrest.

Greeters
Baycrest clinics and Diagnostic Imaging departments need volunteers to greet clients
and keep them company while they wait for appointments.


Friendly visitors and program assistants
Spend time with residents and patients. Go for walks, play card and board games, assist at programs. Russian, Hungarian, and Yiddish speakers are needed.

Friendly visitors who speak Russian, Polish, German, Hungarian and Yiddish are urgently needed in the Apotex, Jewish Home for the Aged and the hospital.


Welcome the Sabbath
The Apotex, Jewish Home for the Aged is looking for volunteers to help residents welcome the Sabbath on Friday afternoons with music and song.
