Decorium throws gala fundraiser to help their team ‘Stick it to Alzheimer’s!’

Hockey fans, their friends and families enjoyed a lively night out while raising funds for Baycrest at the recent Decorium gala. Organized as part of Decorium’s participation in the Baycrest Pro-Am, the gala was held at the swanky Paradise Banquet and Convention Centre in Concord and featured a silent auction, a live auction, music, dancing, refreshments and more. Some of the items auctioned included holiday cruises, cottage packages, jewelry, and sports memorabilia.

Decorium COO Howard Forberg was thrilled with the event, and said, “It was a great excuse for a night out, while raising money for a good cause.” He’s looking forward to the 2008 Pro-Am, especially the Draft Night party. “Last year’s party was like Disneyland,” said Howard. “You got to meet NHL heroes like Doug Gilmour, Wendel Clark and Borje Salming.”

Howard is a long-time Baycrest supporter, and can remember when his great-grandmother celebrated her 100th birthday at Baycrest over 30 years ago. “It’s a staple of our community,” he says. “Everyone knows someone who’s benefited from Baycrest.”
