Decorium throws gala fundraiser to help their team ‘Stick it to Alzheimer’s!’
Hockey fans, their friends and families enjoyed a lively night out while raising funds for Baycrest at the recent Decorium gala. Organized as part of Decorium’s participation in the Baycrest Pro-Am, the gala was held at the swanky Paradise Banquet and Convention Centre in Concord and featured a silent auction, a live auction, music, dancing, refreshments and more. ‘Sticking it to Alzheimer’s’ touches a personal chord for Mark Napier
For Mark Napier, executive director of the NHL Alumni Association, the tournament touches a personal chord. Approximately five years ago, his father-in-law was diagnosed with mild Alzheimer’s disease. “For my family it was devastating to see the state of decay that this awful disease can do,” says Napier. “Luckily my wife, who is a nurse, knew about Baycrest and arranged for him to be seen at the clinic.” Read more

New Centre for Brain Fitness to change the way people age
As Ontario braces for a doubling of its senior population over the next 20 years, it is turning to Baycrest to develop and commercialize a range of innovative products aimed at improving the brain health of aging adults. Today the Ontario Government took a large step in this direction by announcing it is investing $10 million dollars to create the Centre for Brain Fitness at Baycrest. Read more
