Baycrest volunteers truly make a difference in the lives of our clients and impact almost every area of our organization. Here are a few examples of some of the programs in which volunteers have been involved.

Centre for Health Information

Be a welcoming face to the Centre for Health Information and help patrons to find educational materials in a variety of formats (ie. brochures, books, reliable websites). Provide friendly customer service and participate as a member of a collaborative team.

 

Eating Assistance

Be a volunteer at mealtime, assist a client with eating or act as a dining room greeter. Eating assistance volunteers receive specialized training in the latest eating assistance techniques

 

Friendly visitors

Friendly Visitors

Spend time one to one with hospital patients or residents in our long-term care home. Your friendly face and kind interaction will make a big difference! Activities may include telling stories, reminiscing, playing games, or admiring the artwork around Baycrest

Musicians

If you play an instrument or love singing, this is a great volunteer opportunity for you. Baycrest clients love music and will benefit immensely from your talent

Program Escort

Program Escort

Escort clients to and from different programs and socialize with them. Volunteers may assist with the program set-up, help clients find their seats, and help keep the aisles clear

Pet Therapy

Pet Therapy

Volunteer at Baycrest with your pet and bring joy to hospital patients and residents in our long-term care home. The handler and pet must be pet therapy certified by St. John Ambulance Dog Therapy Program or Therapeutic Paws of Canada.
