OUR SUMMER 2018 PROGRAM IS FULL. NOW ACCEPTING YOUTH VOLUNTEERS FOR FALL/WINTER

If you are between the ages of 13 -25 you can participate in our Summer Youth Volunteer Program.

Volunteering at Baycrest is a commitment. Our clients and staff rely on you. Our volunteer roles are varied by location, time commitment, and type of program. When you commit to a program, clients and staff are happy to have your help!

Volunteer hours will be signed upon completion of your volunteer commitment.
 

Types of Opportunities

Administrative

  • Greet and welcome families and visitors
  • Reception, answering phones, photocopying, faxing, filing, data entry
  • Supporting others with their administrative needs and inquiries

Program Assistance

  • Assist with set-up, serving refreshments and supporting programs.
  • Visit with and provide companionship for the clients
  • Participate in individual or group program and recreational activities

BBQs and special events

  • These are usually full day commitments.
  • Help with registration, set-up, escorting, and helping to make sure the event runs smoothly.
  • Some events may take place outside of Baycrest such as an outing to a museum
 

Job Shadowing

Interested in a career in healthcare or healthcare research? The Job Shadowing Program for Baycrest Youth Volunteers offers high school and undergraduate university students the opportunity to speak with a healthcare professional about their role and observe their daily work environment, tasks, and responsibilities.

This added learning opportunity is only available to registered Baycrest Youth Volunteers.

  • Neuroimaging
  • Nursing
  • Occupational therapy
  • Palliative care
  • Physicians
  • Physiotherapy
  • Postdoctoral Fellow
  • Psychiatry
  • Rehabilitation
  • Research Ethics Board
