About Baycrest’s Rotman Research Institute

The Rotman Research Institute (RRI) at Baycrest is a preeminent international centre for the study of aging and human brain function. With a primary focus on aging and brain health, including Alzheimer’s and related dementias, research at the RRI and across the Baycrest campus promotes effective care and improved quality of life for older adults through research into age- and disease-related behavioural and neural changes.

Opening Soon! Baycrest’s Kimel Family Centre for Brain Health and Wellness 

The first of its kind in the world, the Kimel Family Centre for Brain Health and Wellness at Baycrest is the only community center focused on dementia prevention.

Membership is opening soon to older adults in the community! Members will get to participate in Baycrest’s critical research and have access to:

• Stan’s Gym
• A warm water pool
• A soft-floored exercise room
• Classrooms
• A creative arts studio
• State-of-the-art health equipment


Members will also be given personalized brain health prescriptions to reduce their dementia risk, including diet, exercise, cognitive training, stress reduction and more.
