Caring from the Heart is an interactive online microcredential that helps long-term care team members build confidence in emotion-based dementia care.

Through immersive story-driven scenarios set around the world, learners practice recognizing emotions, communicating compassionately, managing stress responses and supporting residents, families and colleagues with greater empathy and presence.

This course is designed for all long-term care workers.

By completing this course, learners will:

  • Earn a microcredential in emotion-based dementia care
  • Gain key skills in recognizing and responding to emotions, such as mindfulness, heart-based emotional regulation and more
  • Strengthen their ability to care for residents living with dementia and support their families

This is an online, asynchronous course. Learners can complete it in their own space, at their own pace.

The course is approximately 4 hours in length. There are 8 modules, each between 20 and 30 minutes in length. These include two optional lessons to provide more practice opportunities.
