Patients and Visitors

Welcome to Baycrest

Whether you are coming to Baycrest Hospital or long-term care as a patient, client or visitor, you can find helpful information on this page.

Visiting hours

Baycrest has open visiting hours. This means family and friends are welcome to visit at any time.

We ask visitors to:

  • Respect the privacy and confidentiality of other patients and residents
  • Be mindful of noise in shared spaces
  • Follow any infection prevention instructions, such as masking or hand washing

After-hours visiting

Between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m., use the intercom box located on the wall outside each entrance. Staff will respond and assist you.

To exit after hours, use the intercom box located on the inside wall near the exit door. Staff will release the door to let you out.

Internal phones are available at each main entrance for assistance. To contact the Communications Desk (located at the Khedive entrance), phone 416-785-2500, ext. 2130.

Kosher food

Baycrest strictly follows Jewish dietary laws to be as welcoming as possible to all forms of Jewish practice.

All food served at Baycrest and all common areas are kosher. Because of this, outside food cannot be brought into the cafeteria or unit areas.

We ask all clients, families and visitors to respect these rules.
