Joni Kent is the President of Baycrest Corporate Centre for Geriatric Care (BCCGC) and the Corporate Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) for the Baycrest Family of Companies. In her current role, she leads a broad portfolio of corporate head office functions and she is responsible for Human Resources, Legal Affairs and Privacy, Information Technology, Cybersecurity and Digital Transformation, Facilities and Infrastructure and Redevelopment, Financial Management and Reporting, Corporate-wide Strategic Planning and Performance Reporting, Communications and Brand. Previously, Joni served as Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer, overseeing Human Resources, Organizational Effectiveness, Occupational Health and Safety, Volunteer Services, Legal Services, Strategy, Stakeholder Relations, Redevelopment and Facilities, Support Services, and Food Services. Joni joined Baycrest in 2006 following six years as Vice President, Human Resources & Organizational Effectiveness at Queensway Carleton Hospital in Ottawa. Earlier in her career, she held leadership roles at University Health Network as Director of Employee Relations and at Greater Niagara General Hospital as Director of Human Resources. Before transitioning into healthcare leadership, Joni practiced law in Toronto for five years with Mathews, Dinsdale and Clark. Joni graduated from McGill University with a degree in Industrial Relations in 1987 and earned her law degree from The University of Western Ontario in 1990. She is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada.
