Patient and Visitor Safety
Patient safety is important to us at Baycrest.
We work hard to prevent and manage the spread of infectious diseases through measures like hand washing and flu shots.
Our infection prevention and control practices also help to lower the rate of infections such as those caused by Clostridioides difficile (C. difficile), methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) or vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus (VRE).
Get your flu shot and protect your loved ones
Every year, thousands of Ontarians get the flu. Some people become very sick, while others may need to miss work, school or family activities. Some people even die.
Older adults and people living in long-term care are especially at risk of serious illness from the flu.
The flu shot helps protect both you and those around you. And if you live, work or go to school in Ontario it’s free.
Wash your hands before and after visiting
Washing your hands is the best way to prevent infection. Please use the hand sanitizer that can be found at every entrance and throughout Baycrest.
Remember that older adults are at a higher risk of serious illness from infections. Please do not visit if you are sick.
