The Memory Impact Questionnaire (MIQ) is a self-report questionnaire. Clinicians and researchers can use the results to assess the everyday impact of memory change in older adults. It has three subscales which assess:

• Restriction of lifestyle activities due to memory changes

• Negative emotion associated with memory change

• Positive coping following memory change

Permissions

MIQ test forms can be used without permission for non-commercial clinical, research and educational purposes.

Pharmaceutical or commercial entities must purchase the forms from Baycrest. Permission is also required to translate the MIQ into another language or to alter the MIQ in any way.

The original development and validation study of the MIQ describes in further detail how it was created and describes an initial normative sample for this measure.
