The Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT LOUD) is offered as a virtual therapy program for people with Parkinson’s disease or other similar conditions. 

LSVT LOUD is a proven type of speech therapy that strengthens your voice and improves your speech. It focuses on turning up your vocal volume so you can communicate better. 

After treatment, 90 per cent of clients report improved loudness. And all clients report improved communication.

Please note that LSVT LOUD is not covered by OHIP, so there is a fee for our services.   

LSVT is an intensive four-week program run by speech-language pathologists (SLPs) who are certified in LSVT LOUD.  

You will meet online with an SLP for one-on-one vocal therapy four days a week for one hour.

  • OHIP card or other health insurance information 
  • A list of your medications and supplements 
  • A list of questions you want to ask 
  • Any medication you might need to take while at the clinic 
  • Any aids you use, such as a walker, hearing aids or glasses 
  • A friend or family member for support, if you choose 

This program is open to adults of any age with Parkinson’s or other neurological disorders. You do not need a referral.

Most clients are able to speak louder, more clearly and feel more confident after finishing the program.

Having therapy four times a week for four weeks helps you learn faster so you can communicate better for longer. 

Is this program available virtually?

Yes, Baycrest runs LSVT LOUD as an online program. Clients will meet with their therapist for virtual sessions.
