Project ECHO Care of the Elderly
Project ECHO (Extension of Community Health Outcomes) Care of the Elderly connects primary care providers to an interprofessional team of geriatric specialists.
We use weekly videoconferencing sessions to provide geriatrics training to primary care providers across Ontario. This helps to improve the quality of care available to older adults across the province.

How Project ECHO works
People need access to specialty care for their complex health conditions.
There aren’t enough specialists to treat everyone who needs care, especially in rural and underserved communities.
ECHO trains primary care providers in specialty care services. This means more people can get the care they need.
Patients get the right care, in the right place, at the right time. This improves outcomes and reduces costs.
Project ECHO is a global learning model that connects health-care experts with community care providers through a virtual hub-and-spoke network that shares knowledge and builds capacity.
