Are you caring for a family member with dementia? Join one of our Virtual Caregiver Support Groups!

You don’t have to be alone on this journey. More than 200,000 Ontarians have dementia. Many of their caregivers have the same concerns and questions that you do.

Our virtual groups are facilitated by geriatric social workers. They allow family members affected by a person who has dementia to meet each other online in a safe, supported space.

Each group meets once a week for 8-10 weeks.

Participants in the Virtual Caregiver Support Group have said:

“The group is my lifeline, my community, a place of support I could not get anywhere else.”

“It’s where I’m understood by people in the same situation. It really helps puts things in perspective.”

“I don’t know how I would have survived without this group…it gives me a lot of comfort and helps me face the next day.”

The Virtual Caregiver Support group program is an evidence-based intervention developed at Baycrest through the work of Dr. Elsa Marziali and the Rotman Research Institute.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Adult child, partner or family member of someone with dementia who resides at home or in the community
  • Ontario resident
  • Access to a computer, tablet or cell phone with video and high-speed internet
  • Able to commit to all sessions
