The best thing about the Memory and Aging Program was the reassurance that memory changes can be improved. Memory strategies taught were helpful and with practice I will get better on how I use them. Very reassuring program with simple and attainable outcomes.

Taking care of your hearing is important for healthy aging and addressing hearing loss may be linked with reducing your risk of dementia. Many people wait years to seek help after first noticing a change with their hearing. Baycrest’s online hearing screening tool offers an easy first step that can be completed from home, at their own pace, with less stress. For many participants, the free optional follow-up call with an audiologist is their first opportunity to discuss hearing concerns openly. Participants tell us they feel safe, comfortable and supported as we create a care plan together. A simple screening can help you take charge of your hearing health.

What an outstanding experience I had at the Defy Dementia event…The expert scientists and experienced panelists thoroughly deepened my understanding of the nature of dementia and broadened my knowledge of the diverse ways available to enhance brain health. Opportunities for free hearing and cognitive function tests allowed participants to assess our own personal areas of need. Fun, interactive theatre activities challenged and animated everyone. It was truly an impressive, worthwhile and enriching day.
