Research Focus
Maria Muia is a Certified Health Care Executive with the Canadian College of Health Care Leaders. She holds a Masters of Health Science degree from University of Toronto. Maria has over 25 years of experience in the health care field having held positions at a number of acute care organizations including North York General Hospital, Lakeridge Health and The Scarborough Hospital before coming to Baycrest. At Baycrest she is responsible for overseeing all aspects of information management, informatics, privacy, analytics and the procurement, implementation and benefit realization of a new hospital information system. Maria has a passion for using data and information to improve health system performance and is excited about the opportunities Big Data and Artificial Intelligence will bring to improve and personalize health care in the future.
