What do nurses do?

Nursing should be about therapeutic relationships; moments of care and communication which weave new threads into our lives, and the lives of our clients. At Baycrest, that is how nursing is — the way it should be.

What nursing services are provided at Baycrest?

The primary role of the nurse is to support the person, family, or group with their physical, psychosocial, behavioural and personal care needs. The nurse often is the coordinator of care and a strong advocate for the individual and his/her family.

Nursing qualifications

Baycrest’s Registered Nurses, Registered Practical Nurses, and Nurse Practitioners are registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario. Our nurses are empowered to make decisions, given opportunities for professional development and encouraged to realize their full scope of practice.
