Baycrest is devoted to research, education and knowledge exchange with the goal of training the next generation of scientists from around the world. The mission of the Research Training Centre (RTC) is to provide a coordinated and integrated approach to technical and professional training that supports and promotes research excellence as well as enriches and enhances the experience of trainees at the Rotman Research Institute at Baycrest. The RTC trains over 100 students per year and operates alongside Baycrest’s Centre for Education and Knowledge Exchange in Aging, the world’s pre-eminent distributor of knowledge regarding best and leading edge practices in senior care and aging solutions. The RTC aims to foster the next generation of leaders and science ambassadors. Trainees receive world-class knowledge and training grounded in basic research through research education and are provided opportunities to excel in their chosen careers across diverse sectors, such as academia, industry, not-for-profit, healthcare and government. The RTC is responsible for organizing workshops, lecture series, conferences, internships and mentorship and funding support and advocating on the behalf of trainees.
