Exceptional community service and devotion to helping those in need have been part of Baycrest’s heritage for more than 100 years. Our recent Kindness Kit initiative is a recent example of that commitment.

In partnership with Ve’ahavta, a Toronto Jewish humanitarian organization, and Hillel UofT, a Jewish student group out of the University of Toronto, Baycrest residents, patients, families, staff and volunteers came together for this community-driven mitzvah project to create the kindness kits which provide essential toiletry and hygiene products to those in need.

In addition to preparing the kits, Baycrest collected items through drop-off donation bins at the main campus, The Terraces and 2 Neptune.

The kits offer a small but meaningful way to restore dignity, comfort and hope to individuals facing challenging circumstances.

On Monday, January 20, a group of energetic, enthusiastic and efficient volunteers prepared more than 300 kits, which were distributed by students from Hillel UofT to Ve’ahavta clients.
